Machining and Assembly

WHERE THE REAL WORK HAPPENS: Our manufacturing facility is housed in a 100,000 square-foot, fully climate-controlled building. Temperature and humidity control allows us to maintain tight tolerances and eliminate the problems encountered by thermal expansion. We have invested in state of the art equipment that incorporates all of the latest in manufacturing technology. We have over 70 CNC turning and milling machines with 3, 4 & 5 axis capabilities. We utilize cutting-edge CAD/CAM and solid-modeling design software, such as GIBBS Cam, Surf Cam, Solid Works, Auto CAD, and Enovia, and we offer our customers the ability to upload blueprints and solid models via email. This gives our customers a time-saving alternative as well as a quality process to ensure the accuracy of drawings.

Fredon machinists are well versed in working with all types of materials from standard shapes of bar stock to highly complex castings and forgings. We have the capabilities and resources to machine materials ranging from plain Carbon Steels, Alloy and Stainless Steels, to high-temperature Superalloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy. We are specialists in working with Magnesium, Titanium, and other non-ferrous metals with unique physical properties. Fredon not only manufactures the tough to machine materials but works with a variety of plastics, including Delrin, Vespel, Phenolic, Fiberglass, PEEK, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, and PVC – just to name a few!

Our in-house grinding capabilities to our facility. We use Studer CNC grinding equipment for outside/inside diameter, centerless, and surface grinding which eliminates excessive lead times on close tolerance requirements down to 0.0002”.

We also can provide our customers with fully integrated assemblies, comprised of discrete machined and commercial parts in any quantity. We will handle all secondary services necessary to deliver a complete manufacturing solution, including coatings, thermal treatments, welding, and electrical component assembly.
